I am going to very have to be careful in staggering my settlements out a bit. If you accept a hardship payment for 2 or 3 mos. and then quit paying again will they start you back over in the countdown or sort of pick up where they left off?

Not necessarily. I quit paying on the hardship programs on 4 cards all in 12/2009. But Capital One has me at 121 days, but B of A has it right from last payment at about 81 days, chase is in between. Not sure how they are counting it but you have to call and get them to tell you how many days late you are.

Also with Cap One, I called on a Thursday and told 118 days late. On Friday when I called back I was 121 days late. Did I miss something? When questioned the rep obviously could not tell me why this happened. It's just in the computer.
