Hi, I received a letter from Capital One Services LLC today offering to reduce my interest rate to 0% on a Capital One card that has gone to a CA. The letter states that all I need to do is call and arrange an acceptable payment plan, then my APR will be reduced to 0%.They say they are a subsidiary of Capitol one. Are they legit and should I trust them.
Thanks

Is this the address info you have? It looks to be legit and if it is a sister company of Capital One, I don't think they have to follow the FDCPAct.....

You should call Capital One, the original creditor to be sure...If they are the ones who are collecting for them, have them send you a signed agreement by fax (or mail) and you will be happy to set up a payment plan once it is in writing that there will be ZERO interest until it is paid off.

Hmmmm.. I think your best bet is to call the original creditor, if you have the money try to work something out or maybe a payoff for less than the full balance.

Capital One is bad, they really like to sue and waste no time getting an attorney involved in most cases, so be careful. Most likely it is capital one but they have an in house collections department.
