Garnishment of disability

My uncle is on permanent disability from an auto accident. His wife who recently passed away had a auto loan. Can they garnish his disability or any insurance settlement that he may receive???

I think there's several things to consider: Depends on state laws where your uncle lives. Creditor may be able to go after the wife's estate; they may be able to garnish any ins. settlement he may get; but they absolutely cannot touch his SSDI.
