I received a phone call today telling me that an investigator would be at my job tomorrow because of a pay day loan I took out over the internet from a company called "Quick Cash" supposedly this loan was taken out in August of 2009. When I asked the gentleman the name of the law firm he was calling from, he got very aggitated, and gave me a name. However, when I researched with my bank, I never received these funds, and most importantly, I called the Law Firm that this gentleman was calling from and they said that they do not make collection calls. What do I do? I have been trying to call this person back but I keep getting voice mail. I do not want anyone to come to my job and embarass me over money that I never borrowed. Is there anyone out there that has had this happen to them?

I am sure there are many anonymous and fraudulent companies on the internet who are trying to scam innocent people and steal their money. Davis, please do not be worried. No one from Oak View Law Group is going to ask you for any money. Please be informed that Oak View Law Group is not a debt collection agency and we are not involved in such practices. Check out our law firm's listing with the BBB.

Start recording these anonymous phone calls and report them to the FTC and other law enforcement agencies in your area.

To K Davis,
This person that called you is a con artist and just wants precisely to scare you as much as possible. You will have to wait and see if he dares to go to your workplace. But I know he will not. If you have all the evidence you didnot take any loan, then the least this person should do is sent or give you the legitimate info for you to check if it is true. Don't give in, and don't fear. This is exactly what he wants.
