Help! Tricked by Lieberman Michaels and Kelly!

First off, let me say thank you to frogPatch, who directed me to post my story here. I was in line at the Registry this morning and got a call from LMK & Associates. The woman said verbatim everything from this website - http://tinyurl.com/debtcall. Of course, I wasn't aware of this website then. Anyway, scared of losing my license and being taken to jail, I quickly agreed to a 6 month payment plan. I gave up my debit card number and was recorded agreeing to this. I have since discovered all of there threats are idle and have subsequently cancelled my card. I sent them an email alerting them that I thought their lack of website, company information and non-legal memo was not legit which prompted a call from their legal department. Again, I was hoping someone could advise me on how to settle this once and for all. I do not want to be hounded by these people forever and don't mind settling the orginal debt. Any help would be great!!!
Thanks!

What they did is a total violation of your rights and you should not stand for it! If they threaten you to use the recording against you, tell them to go right ahead because you will happily subpoena the whole recording and let the judge hear the VERY illegal things they said to you.
Send them a certified letter demanding validation of this debt. You want a signed agreement/contract, you want the last statement that shows the total balance, you want proof they are legally able to collect upon this debt (any bond and/or license they may be required to have by your state as well as proof they either own the account or are assigned the account.)
If they call refuse to speak with them, tell them that you sent a letter and hang up. Keep hanging up on them.
