well, the one that said they would remove it, you can pretty much count on that account being sold to another junk debt buyer, and you will have to go through the process all over again.
The others, there really is nothing you can do until they do something. Once they get your DV request, they can either continue trying to collect(which is illegal), they can stop collecting until they provide you with the validation, or they can choose to stop altogether. In the third case, the account typically gets sold to another debt buyer. Be sure to monitor your credit reports--the two that did not respond could be breaking the law if they continue to report or update your credit reports with that account.

You can try to force the issue. Dispute the entries with the CRAs..if they verify then you have them on continued collection activity. That way you could sue them...makes them much more likely to settle in your favor.

I did dispute it 2 weeks after the got the notice and they both responded to the CRA's. So do I now send an letter of intent to sue due to them not validating the debt and they continue to report?
