What state? Which type of debt is it?
The expiration of the SOL doesn't free you from the moral obligation to repay the debt. It only suggests that the creditor or the collection agency won't be able to sue you for the debt anymore. Also, the negative item would stay on your report for its full tenure of seven and a half years even when the sol is over.
