This morning at 8 am someone showed up at my door with a letter from Palisades saying they were suing me for 1400 or something crazy like that. I don't even know who the original creditior was that supposedly sold the account to them but they are very annoying. How do I deal with this? I looked up the address on the letter but it is not even on yellowpages.com which makes me believe it is a false address. Is this a valid address? Also it says that they want a response to the letter what should I do?

The address on the letter

Regent & Associates
2650 Fountain View Dr #233
Houston, TX 77057.
phone # 713-333-7165

Thanks

Regent & associates is a law firm in Texas.....Are you in Texas?

Is there a docket number or anything on this letter? If there is, you should find out with the courts if it is real....you can call them for this or in some states, look online.

There should be something there stating who you owe, an account number or something. Try to give what info you can without posting personal info.

This is what I found on them, they look like a bottom feeder.

If you really have been sued, it might be wise to get an attorney to fight him as he will likely give up...

Once you find out what it is for, you will need to see if the debt is past the statute of limitations or not too.
