I'm sure you don't have a credit history yet.
The cross border data law often prevents free flow of information about an individual. Hence, most likely your unpaid debt on the other country wouldn't come haunting you on the American soil.

I hope your creditors/collection agencies doesn't know that you're in U.S. If they become aware of your migration then they can take some action for collecting the debts.
Moreover, if you return back after a couple of year, then you may get into some kind of trouble. So you may fix up someone there in your previous country to start a negotiation if you have the necessary funds to back up.
