Filing Bankruptcy and recently just got married

I am filing bankruptcy and I just recently got married. My attorney is saying that i have to bring my new husbands paycheck stubs in and he has to include his debt. The debt that I am filing on is in my previous name and my new husband isn't on any of it. Why would he need this? My husband and I are questioning this. Why would my attorney need to include his income...all this debt is in my previous name. Can you please clarify more about this. Thanks. MJ
