Has anyone had any dealings with Allied International Credit out of VA? I got a letter from them stating they are collecting for HSBC. They've also left messages at home stating "they are going to be making a decision for me" if I don't call them back. I sent them a DV letter. I am trying to settle an HSBC account and AIC's letter only referenced the last for digits of the account number. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thaks

You have taken the first right step - sending them the DV letter. Don't make any payment arrangement with them till you receive satisfactory reply to your DV. Also keep in mind that if they continue with their collection activities before responding to your DV, they would violate the FDCPA.

Try to update yourself with the rights mentioned in the FDCPA. It would help you greatly in dealing with the collection agency.
