cell phone, work phone, and mailing address. They said i must call them back and pay $986.00 by 4:00 today to prevent bad things from happening to me at work or home. They also said they had a legal affidavit and would go after me for $26000.00. I do have some outstanding payday loans that i am trying to pay off one at a time but i don't know who us payday cash advance is and i never had an advance for $986.00.
Can they really do all this? I am in idaho
thanks

this sounds like scam because a google search revealed nothing but complaints.file a police report for the calls, and file AG,and FTC complaints as well.they made up the name as there is no bureau of criminal identification.let your boss know that this is a scam collector and do not speak to them again as they use scare tactics because they want to scare money out of people.

He said his name was officer james brown and he had a middle eastern accent. I could not find anything on bci or us cash advance. They have left messages on my cell and work phones.

They have somehow obtained your name an phone numbers, most likely from an online payday lender, if you have ever applied for a payday loan online your information was probably sold to other illegal and out of the country lenders. Change your cell phone number and tell your employer your personal information has been hijacked and there isn't anything you can do to prevent them from calling making accusations and threats that are bogus.

I confronted this company when they called me back at 4:00. I told them i knew it was a scam, that i had reported them to the ftc, the police dept and the bbb. I also told them they were recorded on my work and cell phone making threats. I then hung up on "officer james brown". So far i have not heard back.
Thanks for the help!
Do not give out your information
If you type their phone number into your web browser, you'll see just who these people are. They are trying to scare you into giving them the rest of your information. In reality, they only have bits and pieces that they have obtained through online loans. Do not speak with them. They will continue to call, however, their threats are in vain. Just imagine how many people they scare into sending them money. If you have outstanding payday loans, I have found they are willing to accept a percentage of the amount due. Before I found this site, I signed up with PDL assistance. I had several payday loans. I was at the end of the re-payment plan before I found this site, but upon finding it, I could have settle the accounts on my own instead of paying the PDL fees to settle them for me. So - If you do have outstanding payday loans, keep reading this site. You'll find your answers. You'll be able to breathe easier and work through it all. I did and I had a lot. It's amazing what we do when we're forced into unmanageable situations. But remember, no one will kill you because you have a payday loan, only the worry will stress you out. They can't arrest you for having a payday loan. You can negotiate a settlement if you have verified the loans were even legal in your state. Like I said, read this site. It's full of valuable information.
Good Luck and Take a long slow breath. It will be okay.:p
Real low-lifes, aren't they? And has anybody else noticed a lot
Real low-lifes, aren't they? And has anybody else noticed a lot of them seem to use celebrity names? I was called by Marc Anthony! (James Brown, indeed......)

DOn't feel bad I just received the same call and i called the only payday loan company that i had a loan with and i'm repaying them back as we speak. The gentlemen informed me that it was a bogus scam. The first guy told me his name was Rich hunt and that i owed 400. ANd, that he would call back. I then called back and spoke to a lady and she said that it was 875.35 and that the original loan was 300.00. I knew it was a trick cause they sounded like they were outside and that i am going to the police department to file a complaint and what not. I even went into my checking account to verify that i didn't have any loans in that amount go into my account.

we rec'd the same call from a woman who left a msg on my son's cell phone for my husband. She had a bad accent and said she was from BCI and they had an affidavit with his social security number and he should call back before he got into trouble. She left a number and ext. We deleted it, but we have never had a payday loan. I'm wondering if they are getting their info somewhere else. They are calling several people. There are other web sites with people getting these same calls.
