I never hired a settlement company, I did it on my own. There are plenty of resources available at this forum to guide you through the process. I actually settled debts for a friend, he had 4 debts, so far I have settled 3 successfully and working on the last one.

Shazzer Please Help me!! I am going to the bank tomorrow to see if I can close my account and also see what there policy is for ach transactions on closesd accounts. I am going to have letters stating that I am revoking authorization for each pdl . I dont know if these 2 are legal Paycheck today and Great Sky Cash. I also stay in Georgia. By reading this site I know I should go to the bank first and not contact the pdl first, also I will use the template that was provided on this site. I got in this trouble because my Mother was dying and when she did die I needed more money. Also I dont know if my company can stop the direct depoist before this Friday from which the PDL will debit my account which will leave too short for my rent and bills. Then after the 4 renewal with PayCheck Today they start taking out an extra 50 along with the 90 they already have taken out. Could you tell me is these companies are legal and also I dont have a address for them. So I know I can e-mail them my letters. Am I on the right track, and if I am I dont know how I am going to do this by Friday when they debit my account.
Payday Today 300 paid - 975 paid out first time
Great Sky Cash- 300 have not paid out anything yet (Friday is when they are suppose to start debiting my account.

I did not go the route of hiring a Debt settlement company I did it myself, I knew how to do it because I worked in the industry. In my experience creditors are very willing to work directly with the card holder, especially in this economic environment it is easier than ever.
Be organized, dont get overly emotional (biggest mistake people make) be kind, professional, and go for it.
