I found this website yesterday and have been looking through all of the messages to get answers. About 18 months ago, my husband and I each got a payday loan through Cash Central and everything has snowballed since then. We are at a point where the account is overdrawn after our paycheck have been deposited leaving NO money to pay anything else. Our water was turned off today and the power and gas will be turned off in the next few days if we don't pay the past due amounts. I have no idea what to do!! I believe that the pdls that we have are legal in Alabama or are considered CSOs. What help is there for me? Here's what we owe:

Cash Central-borrowed $500 owe $587.50 (they take out the total amount when it's due, but we immediately get another one because we have to have the money. We can't afford to give almost 600 dollars at one time. We have been in this cycle for 18 months).

Cash Central-Borrowed $300 owe $347.50 (same cycle as above)

Cash Net-borrowed $500 owe $587.50 (same cycle as above)

First bank of Delaware-borrowed $700 owe $91.78 every two weeks until October 2010

First Bank of Delaware-borrowed $700 owe $242.?? each month until sometime in October

Loan point USA-borrowed $600 (they take out $180 every other week and will continue to do so until we can pay the whole $600)

I believe that theonly illegal one is Loan Point USA.

Sorry this is so long, but I have no idea what we are going to do. We have two 5 year olds and I feel like our entire world is crashing down around us. There is no light at the end of the tunnel. PLEASE HELP guide me in the right direction.

Cash Central isn't listed as a licensed lender in your state. Does their contract state they are a payday lender or they are a personal lender? Anyway, Loanpoint is definitely NOT licensed and the only way to stop them is to close your account, but you will need to contact the other lenders to let them know you MUST close your account due to illegal activity. I would contact the other lenders to see if they would work out some type of payment plan for you. You don't owe Loanpoint another dime, you have more than paid them off, in fact, they owe you a refund. CLICK HERE to find out how to deal with illegal lenders. By the way, Cashnet is not listed as a licensed lender in your state either. Your payday loan laws are below:

The licensee search for your state is below:

The first thing you must do is take control of your checking account. You need to close it or have it restricted to direct deposit ONLY if you're getting your paychecks that way. Send recision letters for the ones that are taking money out, and then call them and see if you can work out a repayment plan (the ones that are legal). Contact social services/community services to see if there's any help with paying utilities. and don't take out any more pay day loans or you'll never dig yourself out.

Good luck.

I was able to put our account on hold and open up a new account at another bank. My husband has to handle his illegal loan with loainpoint usa, but the other pdls are all legal. I called 1st bank of delaware to ask if they could work with me with an EPP, but they told me NO. They said that it was a new account and there was no loss of job on our end that put us in a hardship. I explained that all of the money coming out on payday was putting us in a hardship. I asked to be taken off of auto debit and she didn;t want to even do that. After I demanded it, she finally took it off. I guess I have to be really behind on payments to them to get repayment help. I explained that all of our money was going to pdls instead of our living expenses and that from now on I will mail in their payment when I had the money. I now have to call cashcentral to see if they will work with me. I'm not very hopeful.
