In 2003 I took out two payday loans and at that time they had me write a post dated check for the payback. Well, I saw I was not going to have the money so I put "Stop Payment on the checks. This was in 2003.

On Friday, April 9, 2010 I received a phone call from a guy that said he was from Income Receovery Systems and that I needed to pay back the amounts owed or they would file criminal charges. I told him I did not have the money. He said well the statute of limitation is about to run out and we have to either have the money or we will file charges on you. I told him sorry I did not have the money and I do not have the money. Then he said he would settle for $750.00, but I would only have two months to take care of it.

According to information I have received the Statute of Limitations in Oklahoma is anywhere from 3 to 6 years. In Arizona it is even less and it has been over six years since this happened; in fact this is seven years.

How should I handle this jerk?

Thank you for your assistance.
