You can confirm the legal status of your lenders from the following link. You first need to determine which of your lenders are legal in your state and which are not. I don't think that closing the bank account before determining the legal status of your lenders was a good idea.

I hear ya. I'm in Arizona too and have been forced to declare bankruptcy to get these PDLs off my back. My lawyer had some good advice. He said that PDLs are so despised by bankruptcy judges and trustees that if and when they show up to challenge the banktruptcy, most judges dismiss their claims. On the rare occasion when the judge does not dismiss, the PDL can no longer draft your account and the interest rate is reduced to a manageable 10% annual interest rate... that's just pennies on the loan.

I checked on the lists provided and none of the loan agencies I have are listed as having an active license in the state of AZ. And when I say I closed my account, it was more like the bank closed it due to over draft fees of over $650 due to these vultures! I guess in a way, my bank did me a favor, but I know I still have a long hard road ahead of me!
