LoanPoint USA question

My husband received a loan from them in the beginning of Nov. '09. We have paid $1980.00 to them since 11/20/09 on a $600 loan. I found this forum a few weeks ago and have been trying to get him to read some of the messages to no avail. It seems like he would rather keep paying the money instead of "fighting" with them even though I have told him they are an illegal pdl in Alabama. This morning he called them to work something out and he told them that they were illegal in Alabama and that he had already paid them what was owed to them (info that I had verbally told him). The person who answered the phone stated that theyy couldn't speak about the legality of the company and transferred him to a supervisor who also stated that he couldn't speak about legalities. He offered my husband a settlement offer which consists of two more $180 payments starting this friday. Since my husband doesn't feel comfortable fighting with them, can I speak to the people if my husband gives them permission to them or will they only speak to him since it is only in his name? Also, he told them to take him off of automatic debit withdraw and they stated that according to the contract that they couldn't. Again, my husband doesn't know any better.
Should we just take the settlement or should I try to convince him to fight them? I'm afaid if we take the settlement, they will find another way to get the money from us somehow. We are in the process of opening another bank account at different bank, but still have out current bank open because of a few bill debits that are set to come out this week.
HELP...I need advice.

I think your husband should write to them a letter stating that the loan has been overpaid and they owe some refund to him. Honestly I don't see a reason why your husband wants to keep paying to someone who is ripping him off. Check out the following on dealing with unlicensed payday lenders.
