[SIZE=1][LEFT]I would like to know if this collection company is legal. I owe Cash jar only $81.25 but they are pushing for a $481.00. I was very impressed with them, very professional staff, talked to me really, but I'm not paying $481.00. Advice Please, this is the letter that they sent me via email.

This is a scam and i feel incredibly sorry for anyone who has released funds to this company because i can guarantee you that if you contact the actual company that held your debt they did not receive the payment for your past dew account. A real debt collection agency knows the laws and will not go above and beyond was is legal to try and collect a debt from you. If they were a real collection agency don't you think they would jsut take legal action and garnish your wages being how they are contacting your place of employment. Just thought i would update. I realize that this post is very old.

I would contact them back one more time and offer them to settle out the account. I dealt with them and explained that I had paid back most of what was owed to Web Payday and they looked into the matter promptly. they offered me 60% of the bill because they said the original creditor charged the interest not them. It worked out for all of us. I got this matter cleared up and they were able to get what they needed too

They Can contact your place of employment but they can not give any info to them other than leave their name and number and a message to have you call them back. This company does illegal practices by harrasing your coworkers and anyone else they can about your debt though.

Dear Company,I have received more calls for "Mary Rodriguez" than I can remember. You are calling a government contractor and not "Mary Rodriguez". There is no "Mary Rodriguez" at the number that you have called 100 thousand times, which of course I'm not posting because I'll just get more calls. I am trying to convince my company to contact the government to pursue your company and take legal means.
