Can anyone show me an example of a cease and desist letter to get phone calls to my work stopped. I have begun working with T&C, and I expected calls to my cell, but I cannot have these phone calls to my office! Also- how long will they keep bombarding my cell phone with calls? Every call costs me minutes, which ups that bill!

Thanks,
Crystal

You can use this as a sample letter. Center the top part, and insert proper information where it belongs.

Dear J. Smith:
1. You are hereby notified under provisions of Public Laws 104-208, also known as the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, that your services are no longer desired.
2. You and your organization must CEASE & DESIST all attempts to collect the above debt. Failure to comply with this law will result in my immediately filing a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and the [inster your home state] Attorney General's office. I will pursue all criminal and civil claims against you and your company.

3. Let this letter also serve as your warning that I may utilize telephone recording devices in order to document any telephone conversations that we may have in the future.
4. Furthermore, if any negative information is placed on my credit bureau reports by your agency after receipt of this notice, this will cause me to file suit against you and your organization, both personally and corporately, to seek any and all legal remedies available to me by law.
5. Since it is my policy neither to recognize nor deal with collection agencies, I will settle this account with the original creditor.
Give this matter the attention it deserves!
And have a nice day.

Be sure to send your correspondences through certified mail with return receipt requested. It is your legal right to dispute any of the items that are found incorrect. If you have all the proofs documented and are not served with the rectified information within 30 days, it must be removed from your file as per the law. This is the reason it becomes so important to send your disputes through certified mail. It will not only insure delivery of the mail, but will also have a documented time of the mail sent.
