I took out a loan with loan point usa. I paid on it for awhile but just couldn't pay it off. I have a new checking account from when I took out the loan. Yesturday, there was $400.00 taken out of my account by this company. I don't know how they got this account information and I was never notified of this transaction. I live in Nebraska and I don't know the laws. What should I do?

Have you taken out an online loan with any other Internet payday loan company since you obtained the loan from Loanpointusa? You need to go to the bank and fill out a formal dispute, then, unfortunately, you will need to close that account because it will never be safe again since they have obtained your account information. Loanpointusa is not a licensed lender in the state of Nebraska.

If I file a dispute with my bank will I get my money back?

yes you will but you need to get an ACH REVOCATION LETTER to loanpoint.that letter will protect you from this as they can't debit any account because you revoked their authorization.also as shazzers stated.your current account is no longer safe.have your bank close that one,and open a new one not linked to that one.see the manager for both disputing the debit, and setting up the new account.

You absolutely should, especially if you didn't authorize loanpointusa to have access to your new account, however, did you take out another Internet payday loan, because if your did that is probably how loanpointusa obtained your new account number, these unlicensed Internet lenders have various dba's.
