Successful once

So, I recently had a successful negotiation of pay for delete with one CA. Still have two others I am trying this with. I've had zero response from one, and a flat "no" from the other even though these are fairly substantial balances and I've offered full payment in exchange. Any suggestion on how to get them to agree? Maybe some magical phrase to make them realize how much better it would be for them to get the money as opposed to me paying it to the original creditor?

For what it's worth, have you contacted the original creditor to see if they still own the debt?
The ca's would be fools not to grab the full payment per the pay for delete.
It's just more $$$ in their pockets.

No, I haven't. Not even sure anymore how to contact the OC. But, I have an update. Just got off the phone with the one that said "no". During my last contact with them yesterday, I indicated that I would be sending them a notice to cease and desist. Today, they were being super nice and saying that the other person I spoke to was just not fully informed and that they had already been working on accepting my offer. I have posted this on another thread as well, but I don't trust this collector. She said she is trying to get it removed from my credit right now, but she said they will not send me an agreement in writing. The best they can do is send back my original offer letter stamped "Agreed" or something like that. I don't feel very confident that it would be legally binding. Hmm. What do you think?

The agreement that the collection agency has with the credit bureaus is that they will report only truthful information. If it is ever found that they have not reported an account correctly they can have their account cancelled and will not be able to pull credit reports or post information on credit reports. Some collection agencies do these false entries anyway, but some who follow the rules to avoid trouble simply will not.
Sometimes they simply can't commit to that because the OC still owns the account and does the reporting. So you may want to find out if the OC still owns it or has sold it. If sold you have a better chance.
Still Waiting
Still waiting for the stamped letter to show up so I can make a decision about whether or not it might be legally binding. As of yet, I still haven't had a response from the other CA. I am thinking about sending them another letter saying something along the lines of I'm taking their lack of response as a "no", and then offering them a low (very low) monthly payment instead. I'm thinking it might prompt them to respond and accept my previous "Full balance Pay for Deletion" agreement offer. What do you think??
Update
Got a telephone call from one of the CA's today. They called to personally inform me that they cannot remove negative information once it has been reported. Then, she chastised me about how the time to keep it off of my credit was within the first 30 days of collections, blah, blah, blah. I said, "You seriously called me to tell me you can't accept my offer and criticize me?" She said yes and then asked me to go ahead and fulfill my end of the offer anyway and pay the balance in full. I told her no. I no longer have the funds available, they waited so long to respond, etc. I told her I will send her $5 per month. She said okay and have a nice day.
Oh well, you win some and lose some.
