I have been getting 10-15 phone calls per day from FIA, whereby they hang up as soon as I pick up the phone. At other times they are downright nasty and imposible to deal with. I'va actually closed mu checking account with Bank of America as they attempted to withdraw funds in order to cover delinquent credit card payments

Just my 2 cents worth.

Whether it's legal or otherwise, I bought a cheap pickup device from Radio Shack and recorded some of these bottom feeders.

It actually turned out to be somewhat entertaining to record them and the next time, play it in the background for the dimwit to hear.

I know it's frustrating but with the support of this great forum, you will ultimatley win.

They are calls generated by a robot. When you answer, the call is disconnected because there's no one available to pick up. Sometimes you get "lucky" and get a live person...... I get the same calls from one of my creditors.... they don't even leave a voice mail. All calls by robots should be illegal. I don't answer them because it eats up my cell phone minutes.

FIA is B of A's internal collections department. If you owe them money and also have a checking/savings account with them, they can and will take the money to pay toward your debt. My suggestion to you is to call them and make a payment arrangement that you can afford. Once you have an arrangement on the books, they won't call you anymore, unless you don't stick to it.
