I am three months behind on my mortgage payment and expecting the foreclosure notice to arrive soon. Even after the foreclosure if the selling price isn't sufficient to cover the outstanding loan amount, would the lender come after me for the balance?

I don't have enough money to pay them off. How can I stop them from harassing me in the future?

Often the lender will come after you for any deficency balance.

Often the lender will come after you for any deficency balance. Have you looked at filing bankruptcy?

In some states, lenders are prohibited from collecting on deficiency balances resulting from loans used to purchase a primary residence.
