I am currently working in Europe and my parents in India got a letter from the blore court to pay HSBC 30k or so. I left to europe 2 yaers ago cancelling my CC through phone and settling the outstanding amount (around 1k) through ICICI bank (I can prove that).
So what should I do now.
Should I settle the amount or just lay back and see what happens.
If you don't owe the money and can prove it, then don't pay any
If you don't owe the money and can prove it, then don't pay any more. Ask the company for a letter proving you owe them the money, and send them a copy of your proof that you've paid the debt. Make them do the work of proving that you still owe them money.

I have no idea what a blore court is but if they are suing you you need to send an answer. Also contact them to find out why your balance is so inflated.
Called them
So I called them up and they said that the remaining amount was not settled fully (dunno y) and the interest has grown so much. Leaving this apart what is the legal ramification ??
I got the letter on the 29th to appear at court on the 27th.
So what next should I do ? What can the bank do next ?
Thanks for your reply I really appreciate it
