Be patient, some creditors take longer to settle. Keep checking back for more replies.

what are the cards you are looking to settle and how far is your progress with the other half .in acceptance to what shazzers says this is a time taking process and the accounts that you think you cannot settle off and the creditors are not working with you then you can always use a debt settlement company you can check up the rating charts for some genuine ones and you can also call up the toll-free number and receive a free counseling on that as well but if you are patient this will work out and you can do this on your own.
excellent question!
this is a great question--love to see answers on this one! I am assuming that as you settle some-then go late on others-it's then when you are not paying on later accounts --take those payments and you can start "putting away" for the later ones who will eventually settle for some amount -hopefully lower percentages before charge off..in other words stagger some of your accounts so you can work on collecting money to settle a little at a time..hope this helps--it's what I am doing..

but then again if you settle with a couple, the others might say "hmm, you settled with them, now you got the money to pay us" and be real PITA's. tread lightly on trying to be foxy as they will pull your credit to see what you've been up to!

I settled 2 bofa,1 juniper,1 chase.Owed around 45000,settled for average of about 28%.I kept 2 citi,1 sears,1 discover current and never late with total balance of around 13-14000.I decided to settle my biggest debts and try to keep the other ones current to give me a jump on getting my credit back in order faster. Not a one ever mentioned the fact i was keeping 4 accounts current while trying to settle theirs.Maybe i was just lucky, idk but it wasn't a problem for me.

Kdawg, how late were you when settled? Seems to be difficult to settle with one or more accounts when you have several others that are current... I'm trying to settle one account @ 120 days but they know I'm current on all others...

i was around 150 days late on all of them. One thing i also did was i did not talk to them at all until i was close to charge off.I only talked to bofa one time. Also i staggered those four accounts,i quit paying the 2 bofa cards then a couple months later chase and then juniper.
