Finding a collections rep who will make a decision?

My challenge so far is not being able to get any of the collections reps past the "are you sure you can't even make a $227 payment this week to avoid going another month overdue?" question. Many people on this site have recommended not bringing up the idea of settlement, to just keep saying I can't make my payment but that tactic doesn't seem to be bearing any fruit for me. Perhaps I'm being impatient - perhaps I'm just unlucky.
Does anyone know how the collections department hierarchy works at BOA and Chase? How do I get a rep that'll work with me and how do I get through to the same person again? Nobody ever gives me their extension.
BOA is a snake through & through. Why are you trying collections
BOA is a snake through & through. Why are you trying collections dept.? You are looking for a collections rep who will settle your debt???
Thats like looking for a butcher that who won't slaughter a cow. Anyways ever heard of loss mitigation? Try that dept outfor both the banks. The chances that you will get connected to someone more authoritative are higher.
Loss mitigation is for the mortgage department, not credit cards

Collection departments dont give out extention numbers because they are not permitted to...they work as a team, not as individual collectors.

Greetings,
Sometimes I wonder if any of the cc's know what's going on in their respective food chains.
Odds are aginst you getting through to the same person.
they don't even know where they are!
Ever listen to the riot in the background?
I always give them my contact number first....just in case we get disconnected. That's worked a couple of times.
Here's a couple of numbers that may help:
Chase: 888.694.6909 = Settlement Department
Another:866.972.1368
BOA-the snake: 800.242.3328
Good Luck and keep us posted.
