Seems BOA has sold my debt and now I am being offer a 30% settlement.
They send me a email agreement BUT say the offer is not valid until the 16th of May and want a post dated check????
Anyone ever heard of this?

You previous creditor was Bank of America, but now they have sold the account to the other company so this might be a collection agency. Now you have to handle with them.It will be of no use if you talk to BOA. Do not give any post dated check. What ever settlement you are getting it should be all in a paper wok.You can also negotiate with the collection agency and can even decrease the amount below 30%.The idea is,more you are delinquent, more better settlement offer you get.
