They cannot put you in jail or press criminal charges for not paying on your loan. However, they can take you to court in the civil division for breach of contract and sue you for the money you owe, in addition to damages in the amount of their attorney's fees and court costs.
You should not have had to fill out a form for garnishment (or wage attachment) without a court order saying they can attach your wages, unless you voluntarily agreed to allow them to take part of your paycheck. If you are no longer working for that company, then the attachment is worthless without income for them to attach.

If they are not licensed, well then its good news for you! You would not be obligated to pay them anything more than the principle amount that you owe to them. And since you have left your previous organization, they cannot do anything with the Wage Garnishment form that you filled up.

I actually got my letter from Zip19 today. I do owe them 550 on a loan I have from them that I haven't paid on yet. I plan on paying them back, but not with 5 payments of $110 each like they have suggested. I'm not ready for that yet, and since they are illegal in my state, I am not in a hurry to pay them. Do you guys think I should write them back and tell them this, or just send random $20 here and there until I satisfy my debt?
