I am in NY state and cancelled all automatic debits from my checking account and sent the template letter to my 4 payday loan lenders on 3/30/10. To this date I have not heard back from 2 of them (EZPaydayCash (UC Financial) & USFastCash). However, the other 2 keep sending me e-mails saying my account is in collections. The first 2 e-mails had the subject line saying "Stop The Phone Calls!" I sent them each an e-mail reminding them that I will only pay back exactly what I have borrowed and no more, and to please send me a mailing address to which I can send my payment. The second e-mail came with the subject line "Settle for Less than you Owe!", stating I should call them to make arrangements to pay. Here are the stats on the 2 that I am dealing with:

Ameriloan: Borrowed $600 & have paid back $660 (I told them they owe me $10 but that I would consider my account paid in full). Ameriloan's e-mail states that I owe them $800.

OneClickCash: Borrowed $350 & have paid back $105. (I told them I agree that I owe them $245 but send me a mailing address so I can send them a money order). OCC's e-mail states that I owe them $455.

I have not spoken on the phone with any of the payday lenders. Also, is it possible that USFastCash & EZPaydayCash (UC Financial) have "forgiven" my loans and will not contact me? I don't really believe this but it would be nice! I borrowed $550 from USFastCash & paid back $415; borrowed $500 from EZPaydayCash & paid back $462.50.

Thanks for all your help--am feeling much better about getting rid of these loans that I stupidly took out!

every loan you have is MTE,and totally illegal.you only owe the principle on each.file AG and FTC complaints against all of your lenders.besides no pdl is legal in NY.

Go with what Paulmergel says; if you've paid the principle amt. to Ameriloan, you're done with them. If they call up, hang up on them. As far as the one where you still owe on the principle; tell them you'll send a money order or use a prepaid credit card for the amt owed on the principle and if they want any money at all from you, tell 'em that's the way it's going to be. If they don't provide you with a valid mailing address to send a money order, then that's THEIR problem.
