My brother has a judgment on him for a large amount of money. He wants to pay the judgement but he can't pay the full amount. They are allowing him to set up a payment plan but want him to pay more then he can afford because of the amount. Can he ask them to lower the amount of the judgment so it won't be so hard to pay? If not can he claim bankruptcy so he don't have to pay? What are his options?

Also, generally when you try to negotiate a lesser amount for a judgment, they'll want the money in 1 payment. He's better off proving to them that he can only pay so much per month and making sure he sticks to whatever arrangement he can work out. Bankruptcy is also an option, yes, but as previsously said, it depends on what the judgment is for.
