First question: Are they licensed to operate in Kentucky?

Synopsis: My wife, unknown to me, took out a loan with these people. She is repaying the loan off @ $75.00 per month. I check my on-line bank statement and not only have they taken out the $75.00 monthly payment for this month but on the same date 5/10/2010, the took out an additional $50.00 and refuse to talk to the wife on the phone about it. I have no details to review about this so called "SCAM" of a loan and I know they will not talk to me because I am not listed on the paper work (if any even exists). The wife said that the lady she started out talking with was very crude, rude and socially foulmouthed and hung up on her.

What can be done about this? Due to my SSI I am not on the bank account so the bank will not listen to me either.

Is it a joint account? If your wife alone has taken the loan then only she would be responsible for repaying it. They can't debit your account. Hence, you must immediately contact the bank and report scam.

Next, internet payday lenders are required to be licensed by the state in order to operate within its boundaries. You can confirm their licensing status from the following link.

She promised that in the morning she will go to the bank and file the paper work on an unauthorized with draw. Plus I am going to record the next phone call to these thieves as evidence. No I do not need a warrant. She will agree with the recording. This is per Ky Law. If only one party of the conversation agrees to be recorded, it is a lawful recording and can be presented as evidence in a Kentucky Court of Law.
I'm Ex LE.
