Making Payment

Allied has contacted me for some old AOL charges that I don't believe I owe, but it is $100 and I want to get rid of Allied. How should I pay them? I'm afraid to give them a credit card number -- but I also don't want them to know my checking account info. I guess I have more protection on a credit card. What do your think?
