I live in Ohio and I received a letter from the courthouse wanting me to respond to a court summons for a loan i took out last year (i didnt pay it because i was totally broke and i had like 6 more loans out and i just couldnt afford it anymore).

The loan amount is $400.00 and they want a respond by May 18th (next Tuesday).I took the loan out @ Cashland.

How do i respond (format and what to say), should i respond or not ? whats going to happen. ?

FYI- I'm filing for bankruptcy in the next couple of months.

Please help me, i'm so scared, and i dont know what to do!

Thank you.!

Since you have been sued, you must respond to the summons to prevent receiving a default judgment. You can check out the following resource to prepare your answer.

You can get the loan discharged (assuming you'd file ch 7) in the bankruptcy even if there is a judgment against you.
