Has anyone worked with or ever heard of American Debt Settlement solutions from Boca Rotan Florida. They are calling me and trying to convince me to sign up with them. I hear so many horror stories that I am gunshy from trusting any of them.

The debt settlement companies undertake the complete negotiation process and accomplish an agreement with the creditors. Through the established relationships that they have with the creditors and financial institutions, they are able to successfully negotiate the debts of their clients at a substantial discount.

Don't use that company because they have a bad rating score.

we are trying to cancel them cuz they charged over 700 in fees and after 8 months we only have little more than 200 built up and we paid almost 300 a month. also our 2 credit cards are still calling several times a day and my credit score keeps going down. and when i ask when will a negotiation will be reached they avoid answering and change subject. so i would suggest u find a nonprofit credit counselling organization. call a big church and ask pastor or united way or google the web.

I used to work for them. First of all, it will ruin your credit history because they will make you stop paying your creditors( and this is by choice) they can not tell you you have to stop paying them. Sometimes you have to really hear their pitches, there is a lot of subtexts in what they say or pitch. After which they set you for a date to withdraw your funds directly from your account, in which they inlcude a ridiculous ammount in hidden fees. some time up to 99.00 per every withdraw they make. After they have enough money to settle with your otstanding accounts they start to call your creditors to come to agreements with them, some times 50% of what you owe. But this is the trick, you can do the same without their help. All creditors prefer to get paid something instead of nothing, you 50% of something is beetter than 100% of nothing, that is a law they live with, and if you are willing to go the distance with them, they will settle on less than what you owe them, specially when most of what you owe is interest (that is if you have been making minimum payments). So I say, stay clear of these SOB's that try to take you for a fool, and try doing it yourself.;)
