Debt Buyer lost lawsuit - how to remove their entry on credit report
Date: Mon, 05/17/2010 - 08:50
Hi, can you tell me how to remove an entry on credit report from a debt buyer who sued me and lost the case? Do they have a right to report this on my credit report since they could not prove they owned the debt nor that I owed the debt? This debt was previously paid to a different debt buyer and then a new company sued me for the same debt I paid. Thanks for your help.
If they could not prove you owe the debt and lost in court, then
If they could not prove you owe the debt and lost in court, then they cannot report that you owe them money on your credit report. You should contact the credit reporting agency in question and ask them to remove the inaccurate listing.
