debt settlement

I recently used Debt Center America and they were very upfront about the fees and effects on credit. My credit was already toast due to a divorce.
They offered something that none of the other companies contacting me were offering. They sell a subscription ($49.00 a month) to their website and the website does all the settling through some kind of automated system. All the letters are standard form letters written by attornies.
The best part was that i could log into the website and see the progress as it occured. Its true that it takes 6-9 months to get all the accounts settled, and all the monies i paid we're held in a trust account FDIC insured in my name. They dole out the money in increments and do NOT wait until the whole amount is paid to start writing checks..
For me, it worked out aok, i saved plenty and after hearing a lot of horror stories, it was nice to be able to watch it online week to week as the trust account balance went up and the settlement letters started flying around.
also they include 40 hours of prepaid legal service, so that in the event you have a creditor that wants to sue you, you have coverage at no added cost for 40 hours. They also gave me a Daan module that i plugged into my home phone and it redirected all the creditors calling me to the main office and there was an automated attendant telling them to stop calling (which they have to do when they get that message). That was nice, it stopped the harrassing calls for 90 days.(after 90 days they charge rent on the device of 25.00, but at 90 days the calls had already stopped sufficiently)
I was so happy with it, i even referred my mother to use them as well and she got the exact same deal and client counsellor that i had.

Good to know that it worked for you. Wish you a debt free life.

I have a hard time believing that credit card companies will deal with settlements coming in from a website?? They do not respond to email or mail..so this seems fishy to me??? Again, I am a HUGE do it yourselfer....

I am also a believer in diy. Primarily, I want control over my own destiny. I guess if I was a dumb ass and couldn't state my case with any reasonable degree of intelligence then I might use your website. Otherwise, I do not want to be sued because of a third party computer's failure to appropriately respond.
