Ouch. Contact your state's attorney general, immediately. After all the mortgage assistance scams in the last few years, governments are taking these kinds of cases VERY seriously. Lisa Madigan of Illinois even established a special complaint department for all the companies she is prosecuting (and still adding more companies to the list). Next time don't pay anyone up front for mortgage assistance.
