Fia 1099

In April of this year I received a notification from the Internal Revenue Service saying that I owed additional taxes and penalties because of a canceled debt reported by FIA Card Services. IRS said that they were informed of the canceled debt via a 1099 supplied by FIA.
I did not receive a 1099. I have no idea what debt they claim was canceled.
I paid the IRS and wrote FIA asking for a copy of the 1099 and information about the alleged debt.
To date I have received no correspondence from FIA.
I have sent a second letter asking for documentation.
If I get no response to this second letter, do you think FTC will help?

i would inform the IRS that you did not receive the 1099 yoursel
i would inform the IRS that you did not receive the 1099 yourself.ask them for a copy,or have them contact FIA and force them to send it to you.
