Ok...your dad got you a card? Did you sign the application? Did you apply for it? Do you owe it or are you just an authorized user?

Unless you have the cash in hand to settle, you will probably end up with a judgment on your shoulders.

But I dont own anything they can take!! Will they take from my parents? I think my parents filed for bankruptcy in December.

I dont think I signed the application, my name is on the card though.

I have cash but will they settle with monthly payments? I am freaking out right now so badly.

It may be worth talking to them on the phone, before you meet in court.
They may be interested to know your situation- and perhaps have a program to assist?

One in my group settled with Cap1 a few weeks back. They agreed to a 6 pay, and the % was approx 50%. You may be able to elect arbitration. Cap1 took it out of their contracts because it said that they will pay all arbitration fees, and each side in arb pays their own atty fees according to their arbitration agreement. Long story short, if you played the arb card, Cap1 would have to spend likely 5K in arbitration fees + their lawyer fees and they can't get that money back, win or lose the arb....Thats why they took it out....just do a google search for cap 1 and arbitration.
