I am also now being sued by 2 credit cards and found out they do not come to the hearings/ pre-trial, and I do not feel comfortable representing myself. can I ask for a court appointed lawyer to represent me? does anyone know?

Court appointed attorneys are only for criminal cases. You have to get your own if you need one. Are you disputing?
