Over this past weekend I was out of town. When I came home I had 14 missed calls from this company. From what I can find they are not very nice people. I have a clean credit report with not a single ding on it. I had problems over 10 years ago but that is all cleared up. If something was left over from way back then wouldn't it show on my credit report? Some people have told me not to call them back or answer the phone when they call because that will start the Statute of Limitations all over again, but then again I don't think I have any bad debt? My states statute of limitations is 6 years. Do they have a leg to stand on any way? Help........Thanks!

A mere communication with a debt collector won't restart the statue of limitation clock. If you don't have a bad debt, you have no reason to worry. You may consider listening to them once to find out the reason of their contact.
Meanwhile, you can search the site to read more about them.

Hi,
This is a good way to know who exactly had called, as well as the reason for the call. You can call with a different identity if you think they are not good people to talk to!
