You need to get good legal counsel in your state regarding the community property laws if they exist there. You should also consider talking to a lawyer who has defended these types of lawsuits. Zwicker is a law firm, but it doesn't mean they will win. They are required to prove their case by admissible evidence, and consumer get to use every legal defense - it is their right. Just because a law firm sues you does not mean that you will lose. Get educated and find a lawyer with experience defending these claims if you can't figure out how to do it yourself.

I suppose you are right. I easily defended a case by a debt buyer but wasn't so lucky with an original creditor. From what I saw in court the outcome depended a lot on how well the consumers handled themselves and which lawyer the creditor used.
