Frozen bank account

Heres my dilemma. My husband and i have a joint bak account and today i found out that my account has been frozen due to a juggement from a credit card back in 2005, My problem is that he never had that credit card ad did ot know that someone else used his social security number to open this account. I dont have money for a lawyer and ow we have no access to any money (actually now there is negative funds in out account, and we are going to have all these insufficent fund charges against us) I called the lawyers when i got the number from the bank and he said thers no way to have the attachmet taked off and we have to make arrangements to pay off the debt. We ar not gong to pay off a debt that is ot ours that makes no sense to me. Please help me im not too educated at this tipe of thing, im a newlywed and only 28 years old..i have o idea what to do and who to call

The attorney lied. If you were not served, you can have the judgement overturned for lack of service. Contact the court where the judgement was filed. If your husband was served and did not dispute it or file a defence, he may have a big problem.

Im not sure if it was served or sent in the mail but it ws given to him by a family member at an old address...He just knows that he never had that credit card...plus on the affadavit i have it says that someoe else is the defendent but also included him....
