I tried that number, and they said they deal only with credit cards, not payday loans.
I'm wondering if I should close my bank account and reopen a new one, or if that would cause me more trouble.

Sorry, I should have checked that number for you before posting it. If your financial instituion is unable to provide you with the number affiliated with whoever is "hitting" your account, then you may choose to change your accounts. This will not affect anything unless you have certain things setup to automatically pay itself, such as electric bill, cell phone, cable...etc.

Mike

Jessi,
Is this company withdrawing money from your account? Ask your bank how to stop unsolicited debits. You might have to go some formal procedures for this. Some banks also charge some amount to take you through this procedure.
You can also think about closing your checking account, however it seems tough for you as your tax return is coming just next week. IMHO, speak to your bank and listen to what they recommend.
Payday loans are very costly in long run. Please go through this page to know more about Alpha Processing and payday loans:

I called my bank and got trace information. They gave me a big long code, but as soon as I said "Alpha processing" she knew exactly who I meant. She gave me their telephone number and I called and made arrangements to pay them in full.
If anyone needs their number--They are at 1-877-289-4700. Unlike most of these companies I've contacted, they were very polite. I did mention to them that they are very hard to track down-Which I can imagine is on purpose!
