Hi Guys,

The other day we were talking about their new ways to state things when they used the term 'stabilize my account'.

Today I called them and the update is that my second settlement offer of 27% was denied.
I usually get very nice people but didn't like this one, she wasn't able to listen at all and just followed her script. Asked me my phone and email address again, they don't usually do this and finally I did get irritated and tell her 'nothing has changed' and I have to go.

But the new one she thew at me today was that she wanted to transfer me to the HIBAR dept. I asked if they could discuss settlement and she said NO so I said I would call back later to talk to them since I was in my car and had to get to work --this was true also but I only want to talk settlement and she would not or could not tell me what HIBAR was. I asked and finally just had her spell it to make sure I heard correctly. Anyone know? thanks
Kaylee

Hey Kaylee,
I constantly had to be reminded so I will do the same for you. You are WAY too early to hit a home run on a low %. They will practically hand it to you in a couple of months. Most of my quality settlement discussion did not come until 150-200 days, and none of ANY substance until 90. Until then, hard as it is to do, just wait.
Good Luck, dtm

About when they sue you, it seems to vary. Some people are never sued or even threatened with it, others are sued early on. Each company seems to have their matrix of what they do and when, but no real reason for any of it. For instance, my last one Cap One that still wont settle has been charged off but they haven't sued me yet.

Of course you getting sued may have to do with if they THINK they can get money from you - you have a stable job and can do garnishment or something along those lines. I told them I am self employed and that the IRS was already getting the max amount from me each month and that the IRS lady had recommended bk on the other debts. Boom - settlements were done within a couple of weeks. All except the last cap one (whine whine). So who knows - maybe they will sue me on that one and then I can settle with the attorney before court date.
