How long can credit card companies and attornies like (HIM) go after me? It has ben almost 2 years since I have not paid on my Cap One. They have sold the paper so many times I have no clue what I owe. Please help. Thanks for the letter to send-I am sending mine in tomorrow. They served me last week -want attoney fess? and $70.00 for the guy at my door.

They can pursue you legally thru the courts depending on your states SOL. However even if the SOL has run its course, you still owe the debt and they can attempt to collect. If your last payment was two years ago, it is more than likely still within SOL.
Cap One does not tend to sell their accounts....they will place it with agencies. The summons will tell you who is sueing you....if it you vs cap one, they still have ownership.
