Hello I finally joined the forum after a few days of reading all the information that you have. I am dealing with CRS 877-457-4640 regarding an internet payday loan I had with JVC. They've been calling nonstop threatening me with a summons to court if I don't pay the debt. I finally talked to someone and said that I would like an address to send a debt validation letter to and I got placed on hold then an account manager came on the line and asked me what the problem was and I told him I needed a validation of the debt to prove that it is mine and that if it is paid that the debt would be taken care of I also told him that I have never received a dunning letter and their first initial contact with me was last week. He then went on to say that I will get validation that the debt is paid off after the balance is paid off as well as confirmation numbers after each payment. But I was like sir I want validation before I give you any type of payment information. Then which was odd he then said well at the CRS law firm that is not how we do things we're not going to validate anything whether by fax or mail and this is the first person I talked to that said they were a law firm. He then said are you going to set up a payment arrangement?? I said sir under FDCPA it is my right to validate this debt before any further action is taken. He then said we'll see you in court and hung up. Does anyone know of an address to send a debt validation letter to since no one at the company is willing to give me one??

Hello! I have the same company call me from that same 877 number at my office...they gave me the same speech and were extremely rude and wouldn't cooperate with any sort of debt validation. The debt they called me about was old, and I know it was taken care of years ago. They must have just sold an old account and CRS is trying to make some money off of it. Do NOT pay them anything, and they aren't going to summons you- just ignore them and even go as far as filing a police report and reports with the BBB and AG in your state. hope this helps!!

exactly right jess.looked up the number, and nothing but sinilar complaints.the reason they won't provide anything is because they are a scam.use the 877 number plus the CRS name when filing the police report, and complaints.then ignore them.if you get caught on the phone hang up without a word.they deserve nothing else.

Yes I received the same call except mine came thru on a relatives phone stating that I had a fraudulent check and that they came by my job which is a lie bcause I dont work there anymore and the plant is closed. They also stated that I would be summoned to appear in court... They left all of that on someone answering machine, which is totally illegal. Im filing a complaint first thing in the morning.
