You'll need to wait at least 30 days before you can request it be removed from your credit report, when that time comes just look at the sample letters at this forum.

Thank you all but I think I did a big mistake I sent about 20 of these letters and I mailed them all certified w/o receipt. Should I wait and see if anyone replies or do I send them again but this time certified with receipt?
I also have 2 CA accts on my credit report that have a 0 balance I paid them off in 2006 but they show open is that affecting my credit score should I send them a letter of goodwill to try to remove or what?
And I do apologize my ignorance but I am in desperate need to fix my credit I have a score of about 545 to 550 and I would really like to purchase a house one day.

i still think certified mail requires a signature.you can go to the USPS website and check on that.as far as the last comment.nobody here thinks you are ignorant.i don't count miss rebecca because when she is not posting generic nonsense.she is rude.don't pay any attention to that post.as far as the 0 balance is concerned.it doesn't hurt to try.they might want to do a PAY FOR DELETE.i that case it's up to you what is it worth to have the entries removed.
