GC Services put me on a program to collect a student loan. I gave them my savings account number ad they withdrew the first monthly payment - after that they keep saying that my account does not have funds and that I did not pay - when I ask my bank they say they never made the attempt. I think I am being played with, it's like they deliberately want you to be deliquent on the loan to keep increasing the interest. What can I do?

Gilbert! Never Ever give a collection agency your account number! They can take the whole amount at one time! Only pay by wire or prepaid debit card or money order! If they do not like it refer them to the Federal law that prohibits the requirement of electronic funds withdrawal. Next close that account and open a new one and tell them to set up a monthly installment plan that you can pay with a money order or wire or prepaid debit! If they do not like it too bad!
