The people here have been calling me nonstop about the money that I owe for a payday loan I took out. Losing my job next month, so I did not make any payments on this. Making enough money just to pay all of my other bills right now. I am in NJ,and I know from writing on here that payday loans are not legal here in my state. Anyway, now they are starting to e-mail me as well as calling. Here is what they sent the other day:

How should I go about dealing with this? Thanks again for all of the help. John

I would just tell them you will send them payments via the mail with money orders, they pretty much have to accept it because there isn't anything they can do legally. I would send them as much as you can, when you are able to do so, and not become to excited over their threats, they are empty threats.

As far as them calling you, not much you can do about it but tell them not to, most likely they won't listen to you. I wouldn't talk to them anymore after you tell them not to call, the more you argue with them, the more they will call, just hang up and communicate only via email. a couple of questions.

how much was borrowed, and how much was debited before default.yes all pdl's are illegal in NJ.if you paid back the principle in fees.tell this law firm to piss on a spark plug.besides i don't put any stock into e-mail threats.you should either.forward that e-mail to your AG,and respond to them only if you actually owe something.if not don't even bother.btw a p.o. box is an indicator that this is a bottomfeeder.

Oh and by the way, inform this collection agency they are attempting to collect on an illegal debt, tell them they have 5 days after their first initial contact with you to send you a letter of collection via the mail, once you receive a letter of collection via the mail you can request that they validate the debt, you will have 30 days to send a debt validation request, certified, return receipt requested, they will never be able to validate the debt and must cease all collection efforts once you send them a request for validation, if they don't cease contact with you they are violating the FDCPA and could be subject to a fine, not to mention a lawsuit from you. You could collect up to $1000.00 if you were to pursue a lawsuit for FDCPA violations, but that's another thread, just giving you a run down of your rights.

i noticed this is the place that called leaving ominous messages.am i correct?i did a little searching, and they are a typical buffalo chip rent-a-lawyer.the e-mail gave it away.do as shazzers advises.demand something in writing by usps.not e-mail.do not speak to them, and again forward the e-mail to your AG.

I requested that a letter of collect be mailed to my address. I just get a phone call from (904)253-3032.They left a voicemail saying that it was a Dana Clark and I am being investigated, and that I need to call her back at (904) 374-7445. I just laughed. It's funny how the phone starts ringing when you request some info.
